Abba Kyari, the chief of staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, has died of coronavirus.
The disclosure was made on Saturday, April 18, by the special adviser to the president on media and publicity, Femi Adesina.
The statement read: “The Presidency regrets to announce the passage of the Chief of Staff to the President, Mallam Abba Kyari.
“The deceased had tested positive to the ravaging COVID-19, and had been receiving treatment. But he died on Friday, April 17, 2020.
“May God accept his soul.
“Funeral arrangements will be announced shortly.”
Meanwhile, 9jbalogger previously reported that On Air Personality (OAP) Toke Makinwa joined other Nigerians to react to the lockdown extension in Lagos, Ogun and Abuja.
Toke suggested that the federal government credits the accounts of Nigerians with at least N10,000 to cushion the effect of the lockdown extension over coronavirus.
